A running list for rediscovering Kashmir's native culture

I grew up in exile with my Kashmiri Pandit family, inside the culture but with little sense of what life in the Valley was actually like. Families used to talk about it, but after all these years away the memories have worn down to fragments, and few of us ever learned the real history underneath them. This list is my attempt to find out through films and books. Only substantial work makes it: no propaganda, nothing that leans on the subject instead of the craft.
